Notes: Velvets are specially constructed fabrics with a pile. The unique surface aspect for each is determined by the combination of fiber, weave structure, and finishing technique used. The pile of most velvets will have some tendency to crush, mark, and mottle with use and is considered an enhancement to the patina of the fabric over time. In addition, because of the special construction and finishing of velvets, slight variation in color from dye lot to dye lot can be expected.
